Not yet, I've spent the last 3 days working 18 hour days so I haven't had time to go to the store and exchange the parts and get new ones. Tomorrow I have off though so between some side work I have to do and this I'll get cracking to some degree lol. Hopefully I can get it done tomorrow.

ok I have a question,

in my hardware kit I got 2 rubber pieces, what are they for? I don't see them when I inspect the other side of the truck so I don't know where they go.

Also, my brake bar has a spring on it to hold it snug against the shoes on the intact opposite side but I don't have a spring in my hardware kit, and when I check out rock auto they don't seem to have a spring either...any clues?

thanks

UPDATE:
I couldn't buy the spring that goes on the brake bar/adjuster bar so I made one by cutting the one inside my old wheel cylinder in half and adjusting it to fit properly. seems to work.

I did both sides and I never found out where those oblong rubber pieces went so I left them out. I also had some horseshoe shaped clips that came in my spring/hardware kit but the other side didn't seem to have them either, I think they go on the ebrake adjuster? anyway, seemed to be ok without it so I didn't put them on, I also got little washers in my adjuster cable kit but couldn't figure out where those go either so left them off.

I'm kinda uneasy about these extra parts so could someone who knows let me know what those parts are for before I start driving the truck around and ruin things?

also, might be hard to explain so I might go take photos tomorrow but I'll try...
the red spring holding the bottom of the front shoe to the parking brake adjuster...I installed it by threading it through the front shoe and having the end of it put pressure against the backside of the shoe much like the top two springs mount (on the shorter hook shaped end that goes in behind the shoe) but when I checked on the opposite wheel it was all loose and the spring was mounted only hooking through the front, I tried to do it that way but it wouldn't stay in so I did it the other way. Obviously this ads more tension on the spring so is that bad?

hopefully someone has an answer or suggestion/insight.

cheers.

i'll help ya with the little rubber plugs. if you look at the backing plate you will find a hole at the botem of the plate. these plugs were put there to keep the dirt out of your brakes. you take out these plugs to adjust your brakes without taking everything apart. they make a spoon shaped tool to turn the adjustment wheel you installed in the lower section of your brakes.

if anyone can explain this any better feel free as i have a hard time putting it into words.

thanks for the tip...I don't know what you mean by "adjustment wheel"... I don't recall installing a wheel.

In your last photo of the brake pad and Parking Brake Actuating Lever, what is the little pin/bolt with wire wrapped around it used for?
That is the e-brake cable, it pulls the lever and expands the shoes manually, not hydrollically
