Default Heat and Cold Air doesn't work

I replaced the radiator, heater core and hoses, thermostat housing and thermostats.

I don't get much heat at all and cold air isn't cold. What's wrong?

It's a 1985 Ford Ranger XL 2.8L V6 2WD.

Well first things first, you should stop randomly throwing car parts at the truck that won't have any effect on the problem at hand. First you identify the problem, then you replace the faulty component.

The blend door in the air duct adjusts how much air flow through the heater core and how much bypasses it. On full heat, all the air is directed through the heater core. On full cold, all the air bypasses it. If you have luke warm air all the time, the door is probaby broken or the cable that connects it to the temp adjust lever on the dash is broken. Therefore your getting a hot/cold mix.

Well first of all, in previous radiator was garbage and there was either a crap load of oil or a crap load of mud inside both the radiator and heater core. That's why I replaced everything.

I was thinking one of the switches weren't working because switching from heat/internal (something like that) over to bypass air, nothing changes, just hear movement like it's closing/opening some vent inside the dash.

Most likely is that the cable is broken off the back of the lever on the dash, or broken off the door down under the dash. I'd actually bet on the lever end of things since the cable has to be in place to hold the blend door at 50/50.

Just want to update, it's working now for the second time.

First time it started working was when I turned it on a minute from work just to see if it works.

Second time was coming home from work, turned it on about 3 minutes from TLC to hit em up for an inspection since they told me they won't pass it without defrost/heat. It was super hot!

Maybe it just needed a little time or some use on the thermostat to get it going, not sure.
