Welcome. Sorry to hear about your truck. I really have no explanation as to why the airbags never went off

Im not much for rebulding this one. It has to much damage to make it worth it. I already have a project car in the garage I dont need a truck too lol. I need something I can drive soon anyway

Re: 2000 XLT Front End Impact, Air Bags Did Not Deploy
are you going to part it out /buy it back from the ins. company.?
If so I am interested in the middle back window that has the lock /catch built into it. also the rear 3rd brake light/cargo light .
too bad you had the accident looked like a good truck

Re: 2000 XLT Front End Impact, Air Bags Did Not Deploy
I'm probably not going to buy it back. I need the ins check to buy something new. I'll see what I can get off it though. If I can get that bed cover off I will. I dont think it is damaged. The rail did become dislodged but I think its all in working order. Its a nice one w/ the hydraluics. My next day off is weds, Im off today but today is football day but on weds I'll see if i can get some stuff off it. Problem is I now have no way to get big things like the bed cover back here.

Did you buy the truck new?? Maybe the airbags are missing?
The airbags should have deployed..
Were you wearing your seat belt?? it looks like blood on the broken rear window.

Re: 2000 XLT Front End Impact, Air Bags Did Not Deploy
I did not buy it new, I bought it used and I always wear my set belt.
Yeah shipping on the cover would be expensive b/c I use UPS often and have a good idea on the rates to ship stuff. The cover did not cost me anything it was replaced during a previous incident involving black ice a telephone pole and the flare side above the wheel. So I have nothing invested in the cover. As long as shipping was fully covered on my end I would sell it for a good price. I'll get more pics of it when I go back there on weds. I'm sure the insurance company is not going to give me extra for the cover being there, they usually dont add on stuff for modifications so I'm going to consider it mine either way

If so dont you think I should have been notified of that at the time of sale from the dealership that sold me the car? IF............ The truck had a previous accident

Re: 2000 XLT Front End Impact, Air Bags Did Not Deploy
If it was disclosed to them, yes.
Also it doesn't have to be in an accident to have airbags stolen or simply removed & sold for cash.
Just throwing ideas out there for you. I don't have a crystal ball.
