Thats the majority of the responses that I'm getting is that it should have gone off on the other websites I have posted this on. Guess I have to wait to hear back from the ins company tomorrow to see what they say about it as well

Yeah shipping on the cover would be expensive b/c I use UPS often and have a good idea on the rates to ship stuff. The cover did not cost me anything it was replaced during a previous incident involving black ice a telephone pole and the flare side above the wheel. So I have nothing invested in the cover. As long as shipping was fully covered on my end I would sell it for a good price. I'll get more pics of it when I go back there on weds. I'm sure the insurance company is not going to give me extra for the cover being there, they usually dont add on stuff for modifications so I'm going to consider it mine either way
That sounds great, thank you

I was in a head on collision with an oak tree in a former FRF member's Ranger. No airbags deployed in our crash. Jokingly I said that they must have deployed in the first wreck the truck was in, and never replaced. Since you bought the truck used, I would CarFax the vin. and see if that gives you any info. If it was a salvage titled truck, I would just about bet that the bags weren't replaced due to cost.

It is entirely possible that the angle of impact with the other vehicle was insufficient to allow the air bag sensors to detonate. There is a pretty narrow window of impact, usually about 10 -15 degrees off center that will not cause the air bag deployment. Without seeing the other vehicle, I'd just be guessing, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility. Just for your information, I am an automotive engineer with 25+ years of experience, and have probably witnessed at least 1000 or more impact tests. Sometimes it is better for the occupants survival if the bags do not deploy. We run thousands of tests and computer simulations to test. Just sayin'. glad you did not suffer any major injuries!! Keep wearing those belts, I'd have to say that those are the best tools to survivability there are!!

I stopped by today to get the last few things out of the truck, I forgot to grab the camera for more pics of the cover ( more on that in a min ) A progressive rep was there at the time and I asked them if she could make a note for me to not have progressive count the cap as part of the ins claim and she said she would. They usually only give $50-$75 for them anyway from what she told me so I'm better off selling it myself to begin with. I was also diagnosed this morning at the DR's office as having post concussion syndrome so I have week off from work now....hence forgetting to even grab my camera this morn b/c Ive been so out of it since yesterday. Progressive is still taking the truck tomorrow to another location but I'll be able to get the cover later on. I'm picking my my rental in the morning which is right across the lot from where my truck is so I'll get a few pics in the morning

Here are some pics of the cap. I have it off the truck but its still not at my house. Had someone else pick it up and they didn't have time to bring it back here so I'll find a way to get it here soon.
