And here's one straight from the build-it-yourself thingy on Ford's website. Shows it's standard on Sport 4x4's. Optional on XLT Supercab 4x4. So you should have it on yours.

There's a company called Rci that makes a front skid plate with the option of 3/16'' steel or 1/4'' aluminum.
