Engine Stalling During Idle

I have a 1994 4.0L 4x4 supercab Ranger. The stalling happens when I take my foot off the brake and step on the gas. It seems to be stalling as I step on the gas. I'd like to see if I can fix this myself with the help of you experts.

I also have a problem with the transmission, but I'm planning to ask about that in a separate thread. I thought I'd mention it here in case it could be related to the stalling issue. I don't plan to try and fix the transmission myself though. I don't have the equipment for that.

Try cleaning the throttle body with some seafoam and check for vacuum leaks and cracked hoses.

Where do I find the throttle body? Photos please.

It is your carb,the air cleaner hose connects to it,throttle cable hooks to it google it.

I finally got into cleaning the throttle body today. First thing I did was put in a clean air filter. That's when I noticed that the plastic cover over the air filter was loose. Could dirt have gotten into the engine? I don't know if I should be worried about that or not.

That one just snaps off the ball head Pivot point the cable assembly will just press snap back on.

Just take the air filter hose off leave everything else on and use a rag and sea foam to wipe out the inside off the throttle body.Make sure the flap is clean and closes freely.

The YouTube videos on this subject mentioned a certain amount of torque is required for the bolts holding the throttle body together. I don't have a torque wrench. Is this a problem? I'm thinking of buying one though. If I do, how much torque do those bolts require? The YouTube video mentioned 18 ft-lbs.
