I got a ranger that I can say I am in love with. She's my first truck that I can call my own.

I have. Saffari van worth 1500 and have been trying to sell it. I came across a 96 4x4 v6... I am guess its a 4.0 and it has 236,000 but a rebuilt engine and trans 80thous ago. He wants 2700 for the puppy and the thing looks gorgouse. Not a nik on her. He said gimme the van and a grand... whatyall think? Worth it?

What problems do you have with 230000 miles? When will it take its final poop? What should I expect?

hard to say if you say the trucks in great condition then that means he has taken care of her. This would be a hard thread for me to answer to just say yes or no. Have any pics of it??

Its basically a gamble on that. I would do it, Get a written bill if sale with the amount you actually pay and trade for and get it in writing and try to get receipts that the engine was replaced/rebuilt

I hate that van and I love my ranger...I think i should get my rwd a big sis. lol. But If everything goes Ill post pics tomorrow of the new one. also How do I tell if its a pushrod or a sohc.

So I ended up buying the truck flat out 2000 I test drove the crap out of it cause he was not in the truck with me. The only problems I noticed were a clicking sound and I believe its the fan belt cause it seemed really worn and the oil needs changing and has speckelss iin it. The engine seemed alright. He claims the engine came out of a 2002 ranger I am guessing its a 4.0. It felt alright... not as jumpy and aggresive as my 3.0 I have. What engine is it then? A ohc? Its a v6 but what engine and litre is it? Was it a good deal? When I drove it I dogged it hard and it was alright... seemed like it would get me through the winter. As long as nothing major breaks. Knock on wood.

if it came out of a 2002 then its a 4.0 SOHC single over head cam. Other motor could be a 3.0 OHV over head valve. just pop the hood it will say right on the valve cover on the 3.0 and on the intake tube on the 4.0 it would say 4.0 sohc on a plastic cover. post up pics of her though!!! and congrats!!!!

Looks pretty nice for a 94. Especially being a MI truck!

My bet would be that is has a 3.0L in it. You are lucky if it has a 4.0l, a lot of those trucks came with the 3.0l.

Did you ever figure out what engine you are running in the 96?

The red truck you just posted is a 93 or 94...the dash looks square, 96 had a different dash.....

I figured it was a 96 cause I believe 94 and 95's have those wimpy lame mirrors. it has the a 2002 ohv 3.0 btw. theres no owners manual.. or anything that i could think of off the top of my head to tell me what year it is. what are some signs that seperate 93s and 94s
