I changed my oil yesterday and found little metal shavings on the dip stick. The truck has 120k miles. Now I recently replaced the 5th and 2nd cylinder heads. Should I be alarmed or is this normal? ive never experienced metal shavings before.

What should I do?

huh, so did you let a mechanic work on it and tell you he replaced those heads? If thats the case he done F***ed up something and lied.

You can have the oil analyzed. It will tell ya what kinda metal material it is. Most common would be bearing material.

At work we get it analyzed and in 1 day we have results. There are centers everywhere. and it is inexpensive.
