Default what are these parts?

Hi,
does anyone know what these parts are? ('84 Ranger 2.0L 4 cyl., 2WD)
1- The metal box (the one w/ the 3 prongs) to the right of the starter relay.
2- The box with the "Ford" logo has relays, but for what?
3- The cylinder behind the 'Ford' box appears to A/C related, what is it & where does the missing hose lead to?

Thanks!

1- your starter solenoid

2- thats your fuses and relays for alot of stuff get a haynes manual and it will tell you what each one is for.

3- your condensor for you a/c not sure how its suppose to be hooked up in that one but after that mine runs to my compressor.

Thanks for the info! I used to think Chilton manuals were the best source for diagrams, info, but not any more. Do you kow if the Hayes manual shows what each prong is connected to and how?
Thanks again!

Not the solenoid, it appears to be a resistor, but not sure what for. I would guess the fan.

Yeah, you're right there.

Not the condenser, the accumulator.
