Default 98' Ranger Bake/Clutch Pedals Stuck

Hi All,

I have a 98 Ranger with the 2.5L. Well it sat for a little over a month with only a few starts and no driving. Now when i push down on the brake pedal it does not come back up on its own. I have to put my foot under the pedal and pull it up. Also when i push down on the brake, the clutch pedal goes down a little with it. When pressing the Clutch pedal alone it also sticks i the down position (and pushes the brake down a little) but is is not as bad a the brake.

Has anyone every experienced this and what should i look at first? Right now it is not drivable because of this issue and i have been forced to Drive my Jeep all the time which is not easy on the wallet in terms of gas (11mpg...Ouch).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

KJT

maybe the clutch assembly, the thing that holds are you pedals on, might have a bent rod.

Unhappy

If you are having those problems, you need to look at your brake/clutch pedal assembly. Alot of ford assembly are made of this cheap metal and those are the symptoms before the assembly cracks and breaks causing the bar and pedals to dismount from the bracket and wreak havoc... I am in this predicament.. Was looking on exploer forums

where I found out what was going on with my clutch.. A guy said he got one at ford parts center for 60 and I went today to order it and it was 90 dollars.. So 2days and well see how it goes.. Taking out the assembly after they pedals brake off is a real PIA you have like a 2inch clearance for the bolts of the assembly. But if you can get to it before it snaps, it comes off all together.
