Check engine light, Please help
Well first off hello to everyone, i'm new here to the ranger forum. Second off I need help from you guys, recently my check engine light came on and the code was the MAF sensor was dirty or the O2 sensors were bad. So first i went the cheap way and cleaned the MAF sensor and it didnt seem to make the check engine light turn off. So next i changed out the two front O2 sensors and that seemed to do it. So everything was fine until the check engine light came on again not two hours after it turned off. So now i have the error code, System To Lean, so the guy at autozone said throw some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank and it should be good. Im still on almost a full tank with the cleaner in it cause i don't drive to much. But now it is idleing weird.. And that is where im stuck.
People also have told me that i may need to change my gas cap because it may not be holding to much pressure because the seals may be bad, and another told me it may be because the fuel filter needs to be changeds out.
Any advice would be awesome. Hopefulle you guys can help me out on this

Need the pertinent information about the truck. Year, motor, you know the details.

Re: Check engine light, Please help
gas cap light would come on if the cap was loose. check the air intake hoses. mine did the same thing and it was an elbow hose that was cracked which i learned is common. The hose is a cheap fix so check that first.

Re: Check engine light, Please help
number one, what are the exact codes youre getting and two, stop listening to the fools at autozone, all they are going to do is sell you some crap you dont need. normally lean codes indicate a vacuum leak whether it be a blown intake gasket or a cracked vacuum hose.

Yeppers I agree. Took me a WHOLE LOTTA money to figure out that little cracked elbow was my problem. Just really don't want anyone else to go through that crap.

Re: Check engine light, Please help
Ok Tom here we go....
Open hood and stand directly in the center of the truck facing the rear.
At the front of the intake there is a hard plastic hose that runs to the left (passenger side) and make a 90* turn to the back of the motor. At that 90* bend there is a sfot rubber elbow that is notorious for splitting down the inside seam. Check there. I replaced mine with a schd 80 PVC fitting and high temp hose to complete the connection.
