Default Airbag Help

I had a minor mudding accident and both my airbags deployed. I now have the steering wheel airbag duct taped down and the passenger one is still out. I hardwired the impact sensor to keep the engine from locking up while driving. Now i need some advice as to what to do to get this problem fixed... Please tell me what needs to be done and about what it will cost. I'm sorta tight on cash.
Also wondering if i could just cut them out and seal both areas shut for the time being...

i don't understand why you had to do this? a car will still run even if the airbags have been deployed. I blew the bag in my truck 7 years ago and i drive it daily without replacing them.

It could just be in the new ones, but a buddy of mine had the same thing happen to him and he had to hardwire it because the impact sensors supposedly shut down the engine to prevent further damage.

Did you cut yours out or anything?

Guys, your comments mean nothing without providing the year/model. These things change every year as Federal bureaucrats have the fingers in the soup.

Bought my truck with blown driver side airbag... it is a 96 xlt 2wd... Not sure about your model of truck but mine has 2 sensors in the front and one in the back... since my truck had frontal damage, I replaced the 2 sensors in the front, reset the computer (disconnected the battery for about 15min), and replaced the airbag. All of the replacment parts came from an unwrecked parts truck my cousin had. It is dangerous replacing an airbag and I do not recommend it without doing research first. The front sensors are located in front of the radiator and are small rectangular shaped cubes. I know that you have a different model truck but, I hope this helps.

pics of the one in the rear? 98+ they removed the crash sensors on the core support and moved them to the unit that goes under the dash/cup holder.
