Default Window Washer Fluid Not Spraying

I have a 1994 Ranger XLT 4.0L 4x4 supercab. The window washing system isn't working. No washer fluid will spray. I've checked the washer fluid level and filled it up, but still doesn't work. The tubing that I can see seems to be fine. I don't see any leaks. I'm tired of the mechanic not fixing it. They don't seem to know what's wrong with it. I think it's time I tried to fix it myself. I still need to check the tubing on the bottom of the washer fluid tank. I just need some instruction on how to get to that area and what I should look for to diagnose this problem.

Is the washer pump running when you hit the wash button, is it really cold there and the fluid frozen solid, are the spray nozzles stopped up, pull the hose off nozzles and hit the button. You should hear the pump run if its working, start there.

Maybe the pump is going bad. Try replacing it.

If you don’t hear the pump come on check the fuse- if it’s blown replace it. If it blows again it’s a sign of a bad pump. If your hear the pump and the fuse is ok the lines are likely clogged. Try draining the tank to see if the lines are clogged at the bottom. If your in cold climate make sure you don’t have summer - wash in there. Drain some and put some -49 wash in

Hi Sailmike,
The process of accessing this area is simply removing what's in your way so you can see what to do. If you're not sure if this is your cup of tea, get help from a friend or mechanic. With a little confidence, it's not that difficult. I highly suggest you take good quality pictures from multiple angles. Every time you make a change, take more pictures. They'll help you during re-assembly. Before you can fix your problem, you must ensure all hoses are in good condition. Also, check the plastic or metal fittings that all hoses attach to ensure they're not cracked. But without being sure about the hose coming out of the reservoir, you can't continue. I also agree with all previous posts about ensuring the pump is operating. If all else fails, have the button switch tested. I've never heard of the switch going bad, but there is Murphy's law
