ac recirculation valve does not work - FIXED!
My ac recirculation vacuum valve does not work. It attaches to a flap behind the glove compartment by the blower fan. It is supposed to activate when I am in "max a/c" but it does not. 2001 Ranger 2.3 a/c. Just had condenser replaced and I asked my mechanic why it is not working. He said it is a separate issue from the condenser and he was paid to replace the condenser only. He said that the commander box could be defective, the flap could be stuck, or lost vacuum. I removed the part and it operates on vacuum. The other heater ac vacuum valves seem to be working such as defroster and floor air. Any help please.
FIXED - My ac valves operate using vacuum. My "max a/c" has 2 vacuum valves on the same vacuum line - (1) recirculation behind glove compartment using a white hose and (2) on top of heater valve in the engine compartment using a gray hose. They are connected by a t-fitting. The gray vacuum line in the engine compartment was broken. That was the reason that I could not get vacuum. I spliced the broken gray hose together and vacuum was restored. Recirculation valve now works. Problem fixed.
