Currently stumped by a squealing sound coming from the very front of my engine.

Things that I've ruled out:

• Idler Pulley
• Tensioner Pulley
• Serpentine Belt

I'm kind of leaning towards it potentially being a fan clutch. Had someone at O'Reilly's also listen to it and suggested maybe fan clutch bearing. Sounds very loud towards the front center. Not sure how to diagnose a fan clutch.

Loosen the serpentine belt and try turning the water pump, more likely it than a fan clutch.

Usually a fan clutch just locks up and runs the fan at full speed all the time. Sounds like a big fan blowing air on full blast. I agree with tomboy about the water pump. Could be the bearings in the a/c compressor or the alternator.
