4.0, A/C, Acceleration, and Noise
Ok, finally got hot enough here in Alabama to run the a/c in the truck. I've noticed that under acceleration there is a louder than normal sound and sluggish take off/overdrive shift. I guess the closest thing I can compare it to is the roaring sound when my fan clutch went out. Sounds like the engine is drawing MASSIVE amounts of air. I understand the added strain on the engine with the a/c running, but should I be getting this sound and a big decrease in torque? I'm leaning toward compressor, maybe. Advice welcomed.

Lol mine does that too, it's normal for an engine to be severely affected when you use the a/c.
I like the sound it makes, sounds like a v8, rawr.

same problem, i had a bad compressor and accumulator.. 490 from ford to do it...
not shabby.

Mine make a high pitch whistle. Sounds like a supercharger or turbo
