Default Engine check light

Hi all. I'm not sure what this issue is so I thought I would post it here. I recently had front brake work done on my truck. Replaced pads, rotors, bearings and seals. Right away the brakes sounded terrible whenever I drove. I figured with new brakes it could just be temporary. At the same time my check engine light came on. I wasn't experiencing any other problems so I was going to try to get the codes to see what the computer said. Before I did that I took the truck back to the shop. They checked the brakes, greased the fittings that WERE NOT greased the first time, and adjusted the dust shield, and took it out for a test drive. The noise seemed to have stopped. When I got in the truck and headed home I noticed the engine light off. So, common sense tells me this has nothing to do with whatever they did. I mean, engine light, engine problems right?
