Front Brakes
https://www.amazon.com/KC1854-Evolut.../dp/B01CFL5WHM
Rockauto says these fit but Amazon says they don't. I have a 2001 Ranger that is RWD. I notice some have a hub in the center of the rotor and some have a hole. What is the proper one for this vehicle?
Also is this vehicle 2 wheel or 4 wheel ABS?
Is there anything better than I linked that I could buy? I don't tow, I just want to stop on a dime.

Re: Front Brakes
If your truck is 2wheel drive, rotors with holes in the center are what you need, rotors with hubs in the center are for 4x4.

Re: Front Brakes
If it is 2WD there is no separate hub, the rotor is the hub and the studs are pressed into the rotor/hub. The ones with 5 stud holes and a center hole to fit over a conventional hub are for 4WD.

Re: Front Brakes
So this is the one I would want instead of the one I linked?
https://www.amazon.com/Power-KC1860-.../dp/B01CFL5Z5G
Now Rock Auto says that is 4x4 and Amazon says it fits.
Or do I need the 1854-36 model? The two websites are opposite on that.

Re: Front Brakes
Dont ever trust Amazon's part fitment guide. Go to the manufacturers website and look up the part number you need and then buy it from amazon. 2wd trucks have a 1 piece rotor & hub assembly with lug studs already pressed in.

Re: Front Brakes
Even their website is giving conflicting info and says I need the one with the hubs.
Is this 2 or 4 wheel ABS, and how do I know my suspension or rear drum size? This is a bare bones truck aside from being an XLT.

you would have 4 wheel ABS and you need to go out the and measure. Is your truck an EDGE? If not you have coil springs, you probably only have 9'' rear drums but you need to measure them to be sure. You need a one piece hub and rotor. The 4wd ones will not work at all, also might not be a bad idea to replace the wheel bearings and seals while you are in there. At the very least replace the grease seals. Those never come out very cleanly. You will have to swap over the bearings as well and make sure you set them correctly. If you don't set them properly you will destroy your bearings
if you post your VIN i might be able to tell you what drums you have

also its a TRUCK, they don't stop on a dime, and one more thing. Drilled / slotted rotors are WAY WAY overkill

Re: Front Brakes
Just pay a real mechanic to do the job since your lack of common sense and any type of mechanical ability is legendary.
I thought your truck was almost rusted in half, but that's what gorilla tape is for.

I agree. With this many questions, I would trust a mechanic with your brakes. Because nothing is worse than spending time and money and having your brakes be even worse than before..

I just saw the commercial where the mechanic says, if the brakes don't stop you something else will.
