1992 Ford Ranger 4L V6 2wd
I found it just lying there under my hood, can't find where it came from or what it is. The truck still works, but I like to know what it was.

Vacuum reservoir. Maintains vacuum to HVAC controls during periods of low engine vacuum (heavy acceleration).

Just to be a little more specific. Generally sits in a North to south fashion above the HVAC Evaporator box that hangs on the passenger middle side of the firewall.
