Default Removing step side bed HELP FAST

I gotta do my fuel pump in my 98 Step-side ranger to fix a CEL. So the beds gotta come off. I wanna know if me and one buddy lift on the wheel wells will it crack the fiberglass? Has anyone done this? I would like to hear from someone that has tried this. My truck is fairly nice and would be very angry if it like broke off pulling it off lol. I have already taken the bolts of brushed them and lubed them and put em back in. So i just gotta take it off. My inspection runs out this month (July) so i gotta get this done asap
Thanks guys for help
George

I moved my flareside bed when i put my body lift on by the wheel wells but we lifted only back and forth to put the spacers on and it was fine. try sliding it toward the back and lift it from each end or slide it to the side. When i lifted mine we never had the full weight of it on, we lifted one side, put the spacers in then lifted the other side. Just try sliding it back or better yet to the side and use some cribbing to hold up the side that is hanging over

I personally would not try to life the bed off by the fiberglass panels. I'd try to run 2 supports under the bed and lift it off that way. Long enough so that both of you could just walk to the rear of the truck and place the bed on a set of saw horses. Imagine one of those ancient Egyptian palanquins.

Same here and I've also replaced the fuel pump in the white 94 I had by myself, took out all 6 bolts, layed a 2x4 on the tire, lifted the bed, slid the 2x4 under it for leverage, then just kept addin bigger wood (I had chunk of a 4x4 & 4x6), changed the pump & then just reversed the procedure. Not the easiest way to do it, but didn't have anybody around to help at the time.

Yea I was going to put supports under the bed but the wheel wells are lower than the bottom of the bed so it cant really be done.
