Pretty annoying!

Normally when you unlock then take the key out the door stays unlocked.

My driver side locks when I take the key out, unless I go real slow.
WD 40 didn't help
Graphite helped for a day

Any suggestions for when I go to the junkyard?

Replace the lock cylinder.

Like the O P, I had the same problem with my 95 that I drove. But replacing the lock cylinder did not help. After that replacement didn't solve the problem, I assumed it would be something to do with the door actuators. I never got around to that. I just made sure I didn't slam the door too hard and I would be okay. Also it only ever happened if the truck was running and the keys were in it. I never had the doors lock after I pulled the key out of the ignition. First time that ever happened though was a week after my brother bought the truck. It was in my driveway and we had to wait till the local police came by to open the doors for us. You see the previous owner had only one key for the truck and my brother had not made a copy yet. That sucked.
