Default Coolant leak! HELP!

So I have a 2003 2.3l and have been fighting a coolant leak for the better part of a year. I have replaced the thermostat, pump, and reservoir already. Now I think I have managed to find another leak on the engine. I have no idea what the port is where it is coming from and have spent weeks reading various diagrams, with no luck.

Just above the thermostat on the 2.3l there is a spot where a hose hooks up to a fitting of some sort. I seem to be losing coolant from that fitting, not the hose connection to the fitting, but the base of the metal fitting.

What is this fitting and how does one stop the leak? I thought about RTV but I dont want to mess something up if there is a correct way to repair this issue.

Thanks for any help ahead of time.

Likely, two dissimilar metals and ones begun to corrode. May be specifically a dealer item only and if no longer available, you may have to consider removal of said elbow pipe, tapping it with a fitting and creating your own connection to remedy the situation.. otherwise you could possibly find another elbow off another vehicle but from my experiences, those are never fun to try and remove and or without damaging it in the process.

Other thoughts would be to RTV as you said or JB weld it but eventually as its begun the corrosion process, it may be a month or 10 months but that leak will spring up again as it rots away.

Does that portion of the block it sits in separate from the block or is that all apart of the original casting? hard to tell with that pics resolution and I'm using a 50" monitor for viewing.. lol

The more I look at this thing the more I feel like this may be some sort of bypass for the cooling system. If that is the case, I have a feeling that this isnt going to come out on its own. I've been looking for this elbow all over the internet with no luck.

I think that's casted into the part itself somehow. The angle it is on doest look like too much of an after thought to being installed. And that may lead to the two different metals. If it were me, I'd check locally some of the engine machine shops for an opinion, probably be best to show up and not by phone if you want to get a informed answer and not get pushed off because of a call.. you would be taken more seriously anyway.

If it was me I would go to Ford and see if you can order that part.
