Unhappy starter issues i think

so i just bought a 1983 ford ranger. its a 2.8 v6 4 speed manual. iv recently been completing the top half. the owner before me took the top side apart and disconnected everything to replace all gaskets on top half/ i have it all back together and have been trying to get it started.

it was turning over and wanting to go but was dieing out after 10 seconds of cranking. went and had battery tested and it was dead. 100% dead. bought a brand new supper starter with 800 cold crank rating. as far as i know its a great battery. so i put it in and it cranked for a second and wouldn't start so i gave up and went inside.

today i went back out to the garage to try again and nothing. im getting a single click and then an electrical buzzing sound until i let the key go. im not very mechanically inclined so any help would be appreciated. need to fix this weekend since it is my only car now. last cars motor seized. not sure if i gave enough info but just ask and im sure i can answer questions.

Sounds like the starters frozen. Try having someone crank it and hit it with something while its cranking.

Basically get a new starter but you can try beating the heck out of it

First check all battery cables, at both ends, clean and tight, also check all small ground wires for tightness. Make sure the cables are tight on the starter, one hard click a lot of times means the starter is bad, but weed out the other sources first.
