Default Name That Part?

In the process of installing a rebuilt transmission. The original lasted 264000 miles which was not bad. Had hell removing the muffler system and in the process damaged a cable. The cable comes off the transmission and runs to the gas pedal next to the throttle cable. Never had to mess with this cable before but now I need a replacement. I have know ideal what is called? Hard to find a part without a name.

Thanks.

Had problems removing the Exhaust Manifold bolts. All 4 of them. Tried everything...PB blaster, long breaker bar and impact. No go. Broke out the cutting torch. Cut the bolts...cable by accident. The muffler system turned out to be a little harder than I expected to say the least.

Since it's attached to the gas pedal, it's safe to say it's the kickdown linkage. FWIW, unless you know the history on your vehicle I'd bet that tranny you're replacing was #2. The A4LD tranny never was famous for longevity (LD = light duty), 264K would be exceptional and vying for a trophy + a place in the Guinness book of records.

I am the original owner and bought it new in 1994. And yes 264,000 is the true mileage. I was hoping to reach 300,000 and land a commercial with FORD but came up a little short. It does have a A4LD (4 Speed). Now if I can just find out what type of cable it is. Got a feeling I'm not going to be able to buy one new. I guess I will be going to a salvage yard or Pull A Part location. I would prefer to locate a new one if anyone knows where?

I looked for a for Kickdown Cable. That is it! Don't know anything about a kick down cable but I will be getting one asap.

Here is the official name and part number in case it may help someone down the road.
