Hi pals, I have a question, hope -as ususal- that somebody on the forum can help me.

My evaporator case or housing thermal shield is completely torn and destroyed.

What I mean is the yellow stuff covered with the aluminium-foil-like thermal barrier or insulator:


In the picture above this insulator is in much better shape than todays... now the bottom part is totaly loosen!!!

I searched rockauto, ebay, LMCtruck and I cant find this anywhere.

Can somebody let me know the part number, where can I get this or how can I remake this part? My idea is to find the original OEM part, but if that is not possible Id make a new one at home (please suggest materials).

Go get some thermal tape from home depot.

Yesterday I went ahead and followed your advise.
I had at home some thermal insulator and also self adhesive thick aluminium foil from a previous construction.

What I did was to introduce the thermal insulator inside the original insulator and then, since the original aluminium was comming appart, I wrapped it with the new aluminium foil. Im pretty happy with the results, it looks much better, only took me arround 10 minutes.

I will post some pictures this afternoon. Thanks a lot for the advise man!

For a 5 minutes job and almost free (the self adhesive aluminium foil and the thermal mats I put inside) the results where pretty good I guess:





Not OEM Ford as I like, but I think it will do the job
