Default Simple 4x4 Question

Easy question . Driving a '94 Xlt 4.0L 4x4 . When I engage my 4x4 , does all wheels truly get power to them ? Or does it deliver power to the wheel with most traction ? (checked my rear diff and it's open)

If you have an open differential - power is actually delivered to the wheel with the least traction (not the most).

Being open it will deliver the power to the wheel with least traction

So therefore , all four wheels spin but under loss of traction it sends it to the one with the least?

well all 4 wheels turn yes, all the time when you are driving down the road all 4 wheels are spinning even if only 1 or 2 are powered. If all 4 wheels didn't spin you would have some major issues driving down the road, lol. in 4x4 with open diffs power will be delivered to the rear wheel with the least traction and the front wheel with the least traction, so if you are stuck only 2 wheels will spin, one back and one front. I suppose you could say driving in a straight line on even surface that all 4 wheels are powered equally but this is not true under any slippage or when turning

^this. 4x4 with open diffs only guarantees that 2 wheels get power (1 front and 1 rear).
