Default Steeringwheel grinding noise

I went mudding and the flap in the wheel well is missing some how on the drivers side so some mud got up in there. But my steeringwheel makes a griding noise when I turn. I washed it and it went away and then I went mudding again I think it is just the mud and dirt but unsure.

It is just the mud. Make sure to wash the trucks suspension and under body very good after mudding. If not things will start to break.
