Default '03 Oil pressure switch & guage??

My '03 Edge's oil pressure guage recently started jumping around....kind of wildly jiggling if you will......

I have never heard any noise from the engine so TRUE oil pressure isn't affected.....

I have read that the sensor is bad causing this, I ordered a new MOTORCRAFT unit......

Now, before I could replace the sensor the guage jumped so bad it jumped below the little peg under the "L" at the bottom of the guage...

My question now is how do I get into the instrument cluster to fix the guage needle??

Thanks guys!

This is how you pretty much get to the cluster:

How to replace dash lights (very detailed)

From there you remove 7 screws around the outside that hold the lens and bezel in place marked in red (Part that is taken off above IC)

Then you take out the panel you need (can be tight at first, use a pocket knife to put underneath it to pull up)

And the back of it:

Hope this works! If you need more, just ask. And for refrence, this cluster is also out of a 2003

Thanks for this!

I just want to access the needle on the gage right now, I don't think I need to remove the cluster to do this......do I ?

As long as I can remove the plastic lens/cover I think I can just gently move the needle to above the peg....

I realized after I made that post that you aren't doing what I thought (I thought you were replacing the motor in the cluster)

You can take off the lens while it's still in the truck ( I believe it's only worth removing in a manual, as that is easy) but keep in mind the screws you remove will probably fall down and get stuck on the steering column, so have a magnet ready.
I find it easier to remove in my truck because I only have to undo 3 clips in the back and remove 4 screws holding it into the truck (it's manual), but when working on my dad's truck (auto) I keep the cluster in if I can because removing the PRND12 mechanism is way too much of a pain.

Also, I have heard of other members who had a jumping needle like that and put in another peg so it doesn't get itself stuck like yours is now.

I've never found a good way to do so, the best way I found was unhooking all the wires, pulling the right corner out, laying it down, and pulling out the indicator.
