Question question about modifying the intrument cluster color...

Hi everyone,
I'm working now on my '92 Ranger's cluster. I saw some tips on how to give a new look to the usual green illumination look by changing it to red! Yeeaahhh! I really like the red look on the dashboard . I took the cluster out, the same to the climate control panel in order to change the green color to red.
I made test on the climate control panel and after a few trials and "loses" i finally find the correct way.
Well, know my question:
I'm ready to apply this red look to the instrument cluster, however I do not have any idea on how risky it will be to take the pointers (or needles) apart. I tried to pull 'em but I'm afraid to broke them
Has anyone know a safty way to remove them with out harm? or if it is safe to pull them no matter how??
Any input will be gratly appreciated!!!

Arrow thanx!! but...

Thanx man! I applied what you said and I already remove the pointer from the tachometer & the speedo. however, I saw that the rest of the pointers they have a transparent pin that goes to the inside af the cluster. it seems that the pin makes a little bit harder to remove them.
should I use the same method you mention before or I need to use a different one?
