I've been driving my Rwd mazda b-3000 since october, and have recently begun looking for a 4x4 ranger for more recreational purposes. There seems to be alot of different packages. From what ive worked out, Xlt is a 4x4 and FX4 is better but Fx4 level 2 is the best. Edge seems to be both Rwd and 4wd. Are there any other packages? Whats the difference between them? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

xlt isn't 4wd. You could have 2wd XLTs

yeah, my XLT is a two wheeler. I believe all XLT came in in 93 was cruise control, wheels, a different bumper, and thats about it. I still have manuel locks and windows

Mines an xlt and has manual seats, windows, mirrors, and no cruise control.

if you are going to use it for recreational use and might encounter mud, id shoot for a truck with a rubber floor instead of carpet. Edges all came with the rubber floor, idk about any other models

So just to be clear, the package is just accesories like A/C or power windows. Right? things like a manual transfer case can be on any package? I guess I shouldn't concern myself too much on the package, considering I have no plans on keeping whatever truck I do get stock.
