Default Clutch Grabbing High

So i purchased a standard 5 speed 2011 Ranger on Thursday (4cyl, v6). I am not familiar with the clutch on these trucks, however, i have notice its fully engaging right at the top, is this normal for the rangers?

Thanks in advanced.

BTW i really enjoy driving this truck, way better then my Blazer

Mine starts grabbling around mid pedal. Most of the the action happens in about the mid range of the pedal.

alright, mine starts to bite about half way up (engine starts to bog down) but doesnt fully engage until the top. I am also very new to driving manual transmission (this is my first standard truck). I am just wondering because it is still under warranty so i want to get whatever problems out of the way before i need to pay out of pocket :P

Also i notice that sometime when i put it in second there is a slight noise when rolling with our without clutch depressed.

The clutch won't be fully engaged until the petal is all the way up, but you shouldn't feel slippage under normal takeoff unless you are really slow about letting the clutch up. As for the noise, if its still under warranty have it checked out.

Do some research and find out how to adjust the clutch linkage.

Mine engages very high. Clutch is probably due to be changed soon for both of us.

There is linkage at the bell housing. At the piston that pushes the throw out bearing arm in and out.If there is no linkage check the clutch cylinder linkage at the clutch pedal.

Like DJ said, there is no linkage.

Rangers have a concentric slave cylinder that fits over the input shaft of the transmission. The throw out bearing is connected to the end of the slave cylinder.

The only mechanical linkage is the rod that hooks from the pedal to the master cylinder, and it has no adjustment.

Here's what the slave/throw out bearing look like.
