Default Flipped shackles effect anything when towing ?

What's up new to this forum just bought myself 1993 ford ranger 3.0 5 speed ranger to tow my race car with a tow dolly. The rear shackle brackets need to be replaced and was thinking about flipping the shackles since its higher in the rear then the front, by doing this does it effect anything while I'm towing a car ?

How much does your "race car" weigh? A 2wd 3.0 Ranger is NOT a good platform for towing.

Your "race car" is the civic in the background, isn't it?

Once you put weight on it the rear will squat down. If you lower the rear, then squat it even more you are just losing more control of the steer axle.

^^^ agreed on the platform (I should know, I have the 2wd 3.0) and kudos on very appropriate use of quotes.

At least it's only a civic that weighs less 2k pounds. As long as you don't have much weight in the bed (any), and drive PAINFULLY slow, no faster than 55mph, and DON'T flip the shackles. You can do it. Not advisable, but do able.

Danka, senor. Excuse me if I sound rude in that but around here the 'ricers' i see are a joke. Almost all of em are micky moused so they break down and smoke at every stop and the last time I went to the strip only 4 blew the engine off the line right after one another, honda civic hatchbacks. if yours is useful great but personal experience and all that

Eh, actually. Considering how lame the stock brackets that hold the bumper on are, at least having a hitch he wouldn't have to worry about the bumper being ripped off.

Previous owner of my truck towed with a ball of the bumper and MANGLED the bumper brackets. One was bent about a 30 degrees down, Bumper had a really bad lean on the drivers side until I did the body lift which replaced the factory bumper brackets.
