I have an 87 Ranger with the old annoying seperate door and ignition key setup. I was noticing that the newer ford keys from the mid 2000 E350 chassis doors was the same style key as my current ignition key. I was thinking that since I need to get a new lock cylinder for the ignition, that maybe I could combine it with a set of mid-2000 door lock cylinders and have it keyed all the same. Anyone have experience with this or an easier change or maybe know if I am heading down a road of misery trying to get to a nice modern single key setup?
