Default AC problem

Only when I have my AC on does it do this but my truck make a squeak every minute or so when its on and it does a little jump. I don't know what could be making it do this and like I said it only does it when the AC or cool air is on.

Sounds like your A/C compressor kicking on.

So I'm still new to newer vehicles so how are would it be to check it out and see if I can "unstick" it for lack of a better term?

Not sure, my guess is that there is an issue with the compressor, and that's why its sticking. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable chimes in, but it could be possible to spray some lithium grease into it.

It is the A/C clutch kicking on and the idle will go up a little bit when it kicks on as well. As for the squeak, I would check the belt to make sure its the right one and isn't too long.

First check your compressor.

To do:
Turn on A/C.
Look in your engine bay.
Locate the belt.
Look at the different pulleys it goes around.
Find the one that has a piece spinning on the front of it periodically
You found your compressor.

Check to see if it is spinning freely or if it is laboring to turn.
Listen to hear is the clutch is engaging freely.
Check your belt to verify tightness.
Check freon pressure (freon has oil in it to lube the compressor)

That's a start.
