Question New radiator for 86 2.3L turbo diesel - manual

Hi everyone, we're new -- just bought an 86 turbo diesel ranger a couple of weeks ago! The radiator sprung a leak and the junk place in town didn't have the right part so we ordered a new radiator from Autozone, it's a spectra premium CU1062 (http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...439&cc=1137484)

Apparently it's designed for both manuals and automatics but it seems wrong and redundant. Has anybody done this before? It looks like we can just skip the part that would connect to the transmission (on the right in the picture) but in that same area there's a place to put a pressure cap and an inlet for the overflow tank. And that already exists on the engine of our ford . . . it's not part of the original radiator. So can we just plug up this new overflow inlet with superglue or put a cap on it? Do we need to? Or could we replace the fitting on our engine and just use the fittings on the new radiator? OR, can you find a new radiator that actually resembles the original and isn't all cheapy plastic?

Thank you!!

most if not all aftermarket rads have the hookups for an auto trans..manual trans you just keep them plugged off

That makes sense, it's the extra filler neck and inlet for overflow that I'm worried about. Ideally I'd want a radiator without all that since we already have it on the engine, but also wondering if I can plug that stuff up.

The overflow is for the over flow bottle. What on the engine is for the over flow. Get an over flow bottle and a hose and hook it up. There's nothing mechanical or electrical about an over flow bottle

Hmm . . I don't have a picture so it's hard to explain. the turbo diesel engine has a coolant fill neck coming right off the top of it. there's a pressure cap and with a place to hook up the hose to the overflow bottle. The overflow bottle is off to the right of the engine, pretty far from the radiator. So by adding this new radiator, we have two pressure caps and two places to take hoses to the overflow bottle. We decided to just cap the new radiator and seal up the overflow spout. We'll try it out in a few minutes and I'll post back if this works.

I realize this is kind of an ultra-specific question, and/or a non-question because I'm pretty new to working on trucks and this might be a totally normal thing that happens when you buy an aftermarket radiator. Thanks for replying
