Troubleshooting help
I've been reading and searching this form as well as a ton of others and can't for the life of me find the answer.
That being said I can't figure out the problem im experiencing with my O2 sensor. The check engine light code is p0136 which is for the bank 1 sensor 2. Ive replaced the sensor (one after the catalytic converter) twice now and that has done nothing. I have my truck up on the lift in shop class and can't find any melted wires or damaged plugs or anything.
I don't believe there is any power going to it if I was reading the laptop correctly.
I've been completely stumped and so has my shop teacher. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Troubleshooting help
Is your converter still good? Start your truck and put your hand by the tailpipe and see how much air it is pushing. The airflow should also be constant.

it is pretty constant, but I noticed when idling that every couple of minutes that a puff a smoke comes out the tailpipe. And there was a hole about half the size of a dime by the catalytic converter that I filled in with weld. I don't know if that will solve something but at least it'll quite it down some.

Re: Troubleshooting help
Depending on the cost of an O2 sensor, replace the one in front of it too. If one is gone, perhaps the other is not far away from it. Depending on the cost of an O2 sensor that is. Seems like you have a shop with a great tool setup so your time is free.

Thanks a lot. I've been told that sometimes Bosch doesn't like motorcrap
