Question What should I do?

If this doesn't belong here, feel free to move

I've been realizing lately that the previous owner(s) of my truck haven't really taken too much attention to the regular check ups needed. I say this because all of the parts on this truck seem to be stock, from 1998, and I've already upgraded a few things. I started this thread to get help, and help those with the same problems.

My first question/problem is that whenever I get up to about 50 km/h, and then let my foot off the gas to coast and brake, my truck vibrates and makes a grinding sound. People tell me that I need a wheel balance, but I just had one recently when I changed the tires, and again when I replaced the hubs. I have really no idea what to do, as this is my first vehicle. Has anyone had the same problem? How did you fix it?

Second question/problem is that my 4wd still doesn't work. I replaced the hubs, which were worn to shit, thinking that was the problem. Not the case. I had to on a lift not too long ago and climbed in to engage the 4wd, the 4wd motor under the cab was engaging, so that wasn't the problem. I noticed the bearings on both front sides didn't look too great. I showed the people I was with them and asked if that was the problem. They didn't think so, but these are probably due for changing. How expensive are these and where could I find them? I'm out of ideas as to what could be wrong. I'm sure there are people on here who resolved this problem and am really willing to try anything. I haven't done any mudding in the last year and really want to get out there again!

Last question. What all fluids need changing every once in a while? I change the oil regularly, and all the fluids in the engine compartment. What other fluids need changing regularly? I noticed transfer case fluid was mentioned in another thread, and I was wondering what kind of transfer case fluid my truck uses and how to go about changing it. May long is coming up and I would be willing to do all the necessary checkups then.

Thanks guys n' gals. Can't wait for your suggestions, so I can finally get my truck back to running like it was when I first got it... or better even!

Change the brake fluid every three years. Differential fluid every 50,000 miles if it's not synthetic. Tranmission fluid according to the owners manual. Power steering fluid at the same interval as the tranmission. Engine coolant according to the owner's manual (I think every two years). Transfer case fluid according to the owner's manual. The Ford site has electronic versions of all the manuals if you didn't get any or are missing some from the previous owner.
