They couldn't find anything wrong most likely because there isn't anything wrong. An engine running warmer than normal in the middle of an obscene heat wave is perfectly normal.

See my response above regarding the air conditioning issue which is totally unrelated to this other issue.

you can try this to check if you have a broken head gasket

if the blue liquid turns yellow,it means exhaust is flowing back to your cooling system that is a sign of a broken head gasket

It could if there was air trapped in the system. How was the flushing done? Drain and fill? If so, you could have an air pocket.

No, they flushed it out with their system, and yesterday when I took it back in, the mechanic said there was no air.

Now yesterday when I drove it, I kept the A/C and Max A/C and it did fine.
But I don't want to keep it on Max A/C the whole time.

I might schedule a visit to my Ford Dearlership.

Isn't this exactly what I told you would happen yesterday?

If you put the thing to MAX AC, there is a valve the closes off the flow of hot coolant to the heater core. So even though the blend door is open to the heater core, there is no hot water so i won't make heat.

I'm at work so I don't have time to dig up the fix. If you search on here and/or on google for Ford Blend Door Fix, you will see exactly what the problem is and kits to fix it yourself. Ford leave you running like a raped ape when they're done billing you for that fix

I'll try looking up this weekend. I have to work tomorrow, and have a full schedule on Sunday.

Whatever happened to Summer vacation? Why did I have to grow up?

david, did you every get the temp spike issue fixed? I'm having the exact things happen on my 03 ranger 2.3 ... changed water pump, thermostat, radiator (leaking) ... at cruising over 60mph (in the winter) temp will spike for a few second and drop to normal just as quickly.

I once had a car that overheated a lot, but it would take 15-20 minutes to cool off enough to drive it again so I can't figure out what would cause this behavior.

Thanks!

If you read the thread beyond the first post, you will see that he did. And you'll see how to properly fill your cooling system.
