These past few weeks, my actual steering wheel, creaks when turning. It's not the wheels or anything like that, it's the actual steering wheel. I put on a body lift a little over a month ago, but it didn't start squeaking until two weeks or so after the body had been on.

Any idea what causes this?

there are "universal" type joints in the column. They could be dried out. If it bothers you that much,I would say take the column out and lube up the joints. I did this when I replaced my column.
