i have a 2000 3.0 and in the intake manifold there are 2 coolant hose connections that are made of steel I'm assuming. they connect to two half inch coolant hoses but one of them has developed a pin hole leak. I'm wanting to somehow pull the defective one out of the manifold, and have found nothing on it online to tell me how they are fabricated or installed.

my guess is they function as an air intake heating system and serve little other purpose, but I'm unsure. either way, it is coolant leaking, and I'm crafty enough to make a temporary repair, but nothing beats a new part as a solution.

please, any insights at all, let me know.

I bypassed mine. No issues in a year. Just link the 2 hoses together.

yeah, after attempting a tap and threaded hose nipple, and failing, i was left with very little choice xD.

don't suppose leaving the intake heater veins exposed is dangerous if the cooling system is no longer flowing through... ?

Nope. Like I said, just over a year and no issues. Might even be 2 years. I don't remember, just happy to have her back.
