Default Troubleshooting ABS system - Periodic troubleshooting; Sensors, modulator, control un

Hi guys

Had an old thread on this issue but no responses.

As this is the last light on in my cluster and 2nd last issue with my truck I need to fix this.

What I know so far:

- VSS is changed the rear diff
- ABS Tone rings intact in both sides in front
- The modulator activates after startup and slow breaking until the ABS light goes full on instead of blinking.
- The ABS light is flashing what i assume is continuous 15 blinks which should be "Drive test" code ?

I cant read the ABS codes with ScanXL and ABS addon, it does not show the ABS codes but i read airbag etc code. Anyone had luck with ScanXL to read ABS codes?

I have not yet measured the voltage and current on both front sensors as I need to know what range they should be in for a working sensor! Does anyone know what they should be at for a working reading on the tone rings?

I suspect one of the sensors is not reading correcly as I sometimes can have a full cycle with the truck without the ABS light is full on and it just throws the continuous blinking.

Also, is it possible to check if the modulator is working correctly?

Default Re: Troubleshooting ABS system - Periodic troubleshooting; Sensors, modulator, contro

FYI: The ABS kicks in at low speeds and pulsates the brake pedal. BUT, not if the ABS light is full on. When i start the truck is starts by blinking the ABS light of what i assume is code 15: Drive test's.

Sometimes it keep blinking and the ABS kicks in at low speed and braking.

I am thinking sensor or bad tone ring reading due to dust on the tone ring or ABS sensor?
