Default 1992 Ranger cutting out intermittently

My Ranger has once before done this. It started cutting out when going down the highway. RPMs drop about 500-1000. Does it and then is fine for a bit and again. Only does it when it is ran for a while (30min +) or short rides and it sits for an hour or two and when restarting. I replaced the fuel pump relay and still having the issue. checked wiring from fron to back as far as i can without dropping the tank. I get no check engine light withthis happens and I was told by more than one person that without a light the OBDI will not find any trouble codes.
I checked and bypassed the rollover switch in the cab too. I can hear the fuel pump run when the key turns on even when it starts and then dies after a few seconds. I tested the coil and seems ok too. Check tps sensor and even ran it with it unplugged and still got the cutting out. Going to check fuel pressure tonight with a borrow guage (if it fits).
Any other ideas. Poor college student so cant afford to bring it in.
Thanks

Default Re: 1992 Ranger cutting out intermittently

Ok so my truck died today and wouldnt restart. I gave up and called a buddy that has had several f150's and he had a coil. So before we towed it we gave his f150 coil a try and it runs like a top now. No more cutting out. Learn from miy blunder and test a coil when the truck is warm and cold. Not just cold, turns out the coild is fine when the truck is cold and tests bad when warm after sitting. So my new rule of thumb is test the coil when it's just afterr the truck is shut off or dies and then every half hour for a why till it totally cools down. compare your figures.
Hope this helps someone with the same symptoms. .
