Default Bone Stock, Now What?

im new here so sorry if this too similar to a previous post.

but anyway.

i just bought a 2000 3.0L V6 Ranger XLT and it is STOCK
the only thing that ive changed is the stereo and i also plasti dipped the rims black because the chrome rims kinda drove me nuts.

so i was just wondering if you fine people of the ranger world had any tips or tricks or anything like that i should know. or maybe some things to work on or keep an eye out for.

im not sure exactly what i want to do with the truck yet but im sure some bigger tires are in its future and maybe some new air intake.

give me some ideas!

I would start out with maintenance before the real fun. Motor and tranny fluid, spark plugs and wires, etc... Then let your imagination take control.

It sure is a 914. It's suffering from a pretty bad fuel leak right now and had to be towed in the move.

Bud, I seriously feel sorry for you. A Ranger owner asking what he can do to a stock Ranger, my God man. Let me try to help, and this is just off the top of my head real quickly...with cost somewhat in mind and some might agree, some might disagree.

3 in lift kit, body
new tires/wheels
new headlights
new exhaust
step rails
stereo/speakers/sub and why not ftw, LED's
new bottom valance with fogs
convert your crank windows to power to include door locks and side mirrors
convert bench seat to bucket, yeah, there's a mod on here for that as well
...well, that's for starters. Just have plenty of beer, friends, keep your membership up to date here, you'll refer to it OFTEN.

I have a 2000 ranger 3.0L v6 single cab. I just purchased a roll bar and tool box for it. Next I plan on a touch screen radio and lights for the roll bar.

Since you just got it, do these things to it first:

- Change the oil/oil filter
- Change the air filter
- Change the spark plugs/plug wires
- Change the fuel filter
- Check for leaks
- Check the leafs, springs, hangers, shackles, etc.
- Read about the Camshaft Synchronizer and sensor
- Note anything wrong with it

Basically, do all the maintenance and such to it first. Let the customizing come later. And read, read and read on here about stuff. There are endless possibilities on how to customize these things. Good luck on your build and welcome!

Here's a link I used, it may or may not work, could try cut/paste the link if it doesn't. After I did this mod I went to Walmart...yes.....Walmart and they had a pretty cool black/grey console that matched the interior for I think $40 that I ended in the center.

Frick, it won't work, just google the 60/40 ranger seat mod, sorry.
