How do I check the CV axles?

Yeah when I go over bumps I hear a creaking noise also! I thought it was my shocks but I got those replaced and it's still here. But yeah I'm hearing the creaking noise along with the knock!

The control arm bushing shouldn't be knocking, really, unless the bushing is completely gone and the the control arm is just riding on the camber bolt? You might have two separate circumstances there.

You may be right, but the "knocking" I'm describing may not be the best description. It's a very strong almost more of a clicking noise. But clicking really doesn't do it right either. Lol. Idk how to say what it was. But I do know it is the same problem as what the creaking is. It does it under the same circumstances as what the "knocking" did.

Beef_stew can you seem to almost feel the knocking in your steering wheel at all?

My creaking going over bumps was the sway bar bushings on the sway bar itself

Just trying to see if we're describing the same problem?

Maybe very slightly but not much in the steering wheel. Do you hear it sometimes twice in a row?

Yeah I'm hearing a mix between a knock and a click. It's definatly not a clunk it's more of a precise noise

I got to thinking. So I took a can of wd40 opened the hood and sprayed where the (bear with me I don't know the technical names or what anything is called) steering column shaft thing goes into the sleeve thing. Lol. Anyway it worked! All clicking and creaking stopped immediately. I'm sure it's not a permanent fix, but I'm not sure if that's something that's really a big deal...? Maybe some of our more knowledgable members could shed some light on this? ----------

Yes. And what you're describing sounds exactly like what I had going on.

What I'm describing in the steering wheel was very very faint.

I'll go try that! It's worth a shot anyways! Yeah I'd like to know if this is something that needs to have attention asap or it's no big deal. Very faint exactly. I'll let you know the results of me spraying it tonight

Just tried what bear claw said and no change. I sprayed more on it and I'm about to drive it again

Well the knock is still there. Fml. I just checked everything underneath and there is nothing that could be making this noise! Checked door pannels and everything!!

If it makes you feel any better my noise is back tonight, be it to a lesser extent. So I think I'll just let it go unless it gets any worse...

That's my plan. I'll keep an ear on it to see if it gets any worse. I'm thinking its some bushing somewhere but I'm just looking under my truck everywhere to see if I can find anything that could make a knock
