Default Squeeling Noise

Lately I've had this loud squealing/screeching noise coming from what sounds like the front driver side wheel. It changes pitch in sequence with the wheel rotating.

It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes every other day, sometimes once a day. Its worst when I'm leaving work after being parked for most of the day. It doesn't happen while braking or at speeds above 15 mph or so. It also happens without giving it any gas, like just coasting out of my parking spot.

Once I get going at a decent speed it goes away and doesn't come back even when I come to a complete stop and then resume accelerating.

Maybe the wheel bearings? Any input is appreciated. Thoughts?

Might try jacking it up and spinning wheel by hand while it's cold to see if you can reproduce the sound.

Check for play by jacking the wheel in question up, put your hands at 12 and 6 and try to wiggle it. If there is a noticeable amount of play your wheel bearing is on it's way out and needs replaced. Not sure if this squealing would be the wheel bearing though with the way you described it. Maybe.

Thanks guys, I'll do both and see what I can figure out.

If it doesn't happen while braking, my thoght would be to check your brake pad. They have squeel clips designed to squeel when the pad is too low and needs replacement. And I've had them produce inconsistent sounds like you were saying.
