Ranger Cranks and cranks but wont start!!
Ive been having some trouble with me 1997 2.3l 5spd. It was running great, when i bought it put about 100 miles on and brought it home to do an oil change, drove it in garage, changed the oil, back it out and shut it off. Went to go in town about 45 min later and it wont start. it had a weird pop like every 4th or 5th or 6th crank. checked under timing belt cover and the belt was really loose, so i thought for sure that it jumped timing and was off. bought new belt and tensioner, timed it all up. now the popping is gone but it just cranks and cranks and cranks. my next thought was to test cam and crank sensor. i happend to break both of them so i had to replace them anyway, so both are new. checked fuel rail and has 38psi while i was cranking it over and 30 with just the key ON. pulled the 4 plugs out of the passenger side of the motor ( instead of removing intake for the other 4) cranked it over and all 4 holes shot flames out the plug holes. its getting fire, getting fuel, has good compression and mass air flow sensor is plugged in and working. any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
