Default Sloppy steering

The steering on this 87 is sloppy as hell (what pre R&P vehicle isn't). But anyway, what all do you typically need to replace to make it tight(er) again?

Check and see if the tie rods are worn out. On my 97 I replaced the entire tie rod assembly cause the tie rod ends were shot and the adjuster was jacked up. The steering is now right again. If not then gear box for steering.

Cool, thanks.

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm glad this one does have p/s. My 96 didn't, and m/s parts are hard to come by, almost nonexistent.
