Default 2 Questions

For some reason which I have no idea, when the ranger is cold, like when I first start it, it has a lot of power, but as it heats up it seems to lose power...any ideas?

2. Is it okay to open the hood and hose the engine down or should I worry about wires getting wet?

What I hope to do- Paint wheels, new head unit, exhaust, fix four wheel drive.

The cold thing, it seems the same for me as well. When it was -30celcius it seemed to have more power, coulda just been me. Or maybe there is an explanation?
And the hosing off the engine, you should cover the battery and stuff with a plastic bag or something. I believe in the manual for your truck there is a Cleaning section which says what components are sensitive to cleaning. I would avoid using high pressure, don't want to force water into parts it really shouldn't go. I'm sure there is more stuff, but that's what I know.

Thanks, and yea I was looking under the hood and didn't know if I could hose some of the wires. I just don't want my dad opening the hood and seeing I been taking it out mudding
