96 4cyl Ranger idled high when stopped now wont start
For about a week my truck started to idle high when stopped. When I turned the heater position switch to floor and off it would lower the idle. Yesterday I started my truck I turned the heater position control knob and the truck died. Now it wont start. Turns over but no ignite. Thought fuel pump but gut tells me it is something else

So your heater control knob is your trucks life line?! Odd... Id clean the IAC, TB, and the MAF and go from there

Check the timing belt, if that is OK it could be a giant vacuum leak? Any codes?

Since you don't even know what a timing belt is this might be out of your league. I would have it towed to a shop.

Excuse me?? I know what a damn timing belt is. I do not have the equipment to pull codes. I never said anything about the timing belt. You are the kind of person I prefer to not post on this thread.

Sorry, I must have missed where you answered my question about the timing belt. You definitely don't want me posting around. Who needs anyone that was a pro mechanic for 4 years.
