Default Leaky back window

I haven't seen it on here yet, but it has to show up on every Ranger discussion board on the planet and I still haven't found a solution!

I have a sliding window of course and somewhere back there it leaks like crazy. I can go to the car wash and not a drop comes in but its been raining for a week straight here in Florida, and my truck smells gross. I can live with that, but its dripping in on my new amp! I have put silicone all the way around the back window. I have taken out the 3rd brake light and put silicone around that (it was a suggestion from someone). I am baffled at where it is coming from. I can see it dripping in from the top on the passenger side. The seat and whole back area will be wet only on that side.

I found a solid window at a salvage yard for $65 and I think I will just replace it before it messes up my system. Does anyone know where to get new seals for this, or if it is hard to replace?

Its been over a year since I put silicone around the 3rd brake light so I guess I can do it again. Never hurts. The headliner does get wet too. I have not heard of water coming in thru the airbox. That doesn't sound good. I wondered if mine was leaking thru the passenger door though. Because the paint all along the side where the handle is located is gone, all the way from the roof to almost the bottom.

Try the 3rd brake light again. I had the same problem until I removed it completely and put silicone on both sides of the gasket.

May I ask why do you want to change out your slider window for a solid one. I know its frustrating to find a water link; But the slider window is such a nice added touch. I just picked up one form the yard and used window (black sealant. Keep your window and just pop it out and redue the sealant.

I guess I like the look of the solid one better. Its easier to put big decals on without having to cut them If I open the back window it just blows in whatever happens to be in the back. Not saying I have garbage there, just leaves and crap from the trees. Then it gets the whole inside nasty. I just usually roll down the two side ones and that is plenty enough breeze for me.

yea I here ya. It seems that if you r getting alot of trash back their; you may just have to much junk in your trunk. lol you get it R.GAL just joking...... Im always looking for a laugh or at least make others laugh. so please dont take me serious. Its funny though I like the solid window too but find that their are benefits to a slider window.

1- its adds a sporty look
2- it cuts down on wind draft if your side windows are down and you open up your slider window so that the air passess through and not get stuck in the cab....... hence.... wind draft.......

That is hilarious! I don't have a garage that I can put my truck in and my neighbors have a HUGE oak tree. I can't help that pollen and leaves get in the back. I have a hard enough time with allergies and don't wish to invite those things into the cab with me. I like the look of a solid window better. Guess thats why we are all entitled to our own opinion. If I take the slider out, do you want it?

Ok back off on the innuendos. Jokes are funny but everything I say doesn't have to be perverted.

It didn't offend me, but it was getting close. I don't mind you joking around. The world needs more people to not be so serious all the time and have some fun. Just be careful
